AEA-ELA
Caucus Goals:
- Support
academic success and progress for ELA students at all grade
levels in APS.
- Increase
awareness and resources that support the academic success of
ELA students.
- Encourage
and disseminate research on education policy and practice for
ELL's.
- Advocate
for and provide professional development for teachers in meeting
the needs of their ELA students.
- Advocate
for and communicate the needs of ELA students and parents in
APS.
- Strengthen
communication regarding ELA policy and practice.
- Collaborate
with the ELA and Instruction Departments in APS.
Through
a grant awarded from the National Council of Urban Education Associations,
the ELA Caucus has been able to offer professional development
that supports the district's focus on supporting all teachers
to address the diverse learning needs of our students.
The
members of the Caucus include: Rosana Trujillo, Chair, Lee Ann
Gott, Judy Stephenson, Denise Alcala, Maria Romero, Jaika Klein,
Linda Bay, Manley Daniel.
